An open fire is a popular option as it looks spectacular while providing tremendous amounts of radiant heat. Modern open fireplaces have specifically designed flues to increase the draw and efficiency of the unit.

There are a variety of sizes and options, so there is a type of open fireplace for most outdoor areas.

The other option is to use a radiant slow-combustion heater. Popular brands include Nectre, Jindara Regency and Lacunza. These units still look spectacular but can also burn efficiently for up to 8 hours, making them an economical choice for people who spend a lot of time outdoors.

The Regency HZ042 is an excellent gas heating option. It provides a gigantic flame and radiant solid heat without the mess or hassle of a wood heater.

Please note that the HZ042 is an unflued heater and cannot be installed undercover.

Finally, another popular option is to use an electric panel heater. These are simple to install, easy to use, and provide strong, radiant heat while installed discretely above your outdoor area.
